United We Stand - Divided We FallWork With Us
In case you missed the memo, based on our reading of the tea leaves, it appears that neo-liberalism is dead, or at least falling out of favor and except for the top 1%, capitalism:
• has failed to deliver fairly and equitably;
• is failing to come to the rescue during pandemics and downturns in the economy; and – we regret to inform you – as presently conceived,
• will continue to fail us as we move forward.

If for no other reason than the tacit acceptance of regulatory capture, the preponderance of corrupt politicians and the undue influence exerted by well-heeled lobbyists in conjunction with, and at the behest of, vested interests.
Name your poison.
Taken individually, any one of these market failures leads to massive fraud and abuse but together, they represent a colossal clusterfu*k. You’re talking dysfunction on a level that is systemic, widespread and deadly. Exactly the kind of mayhem we’re witnessing now as COVID19 lays waste to our friends and families, our coworkers, colleagues and businesses, our communities and way of life.
Let’s face it.
Capitalism doesn’t work any more. At least for the middle class, or what’s left of it.
Capitalism, both past and present, never worked for the poor, the down-trodden or the mentally- and physically-challenged members of our society.
Instead, the implicit reward structure, based on shareholder value, that is central to modern-day capitalism has enabled grifters, psychopaths and scofflaws to rise to the top.
The time for change is long overdue and it looks like, thanks in part to the spreading pandemic – with more to come thanks to the disruptions caused by climate change – and the failure of our leaders to act in a timely, decisive, and cooperative manner that we are having to act, whether we’re ready or not.
Knowing what little we do – and no doubt, what’s happening behind the scenes is far more horrifying than we can imagine – at Elporia.com, we are seriously rethinking our business model and how we might be more in-tune with changing circumstances in a world turned upside down.
In the coming weeks, we will be posting a blueprint for a more equitable way of operating in a post-COVID19 world. If you would like to be notified when this document becomes available, contact us to receive your copy.
